Book Covers

This cover design duo was created in Indesign, with the background images composed in Photoshop. I loved using a ripped paper texture in the backgrounds of these designs. My goal was to illustrate that writing creates new worlds on each page. This highlights and romanticizes the magic of writing and freelancing. If I were to redesign these covers today, I would definitely emphasize the typography. While minimalist design strategies are beautiful in their simplicity, I’ve noticed that I myself am drawn to book covers with big loud fonts, the words themselves shaping the design.
